A valid passport is required for entry into the BVI.
A visa may also be required for visitors from certain countries. For
more information regarding the necessity of a visa, contact the BVI
Tourist Board Office, the nearest British Embassy or the BVI Immigration
Department at (284) 494-3471 or (284) 468-3701.
Visitors may be granted entry for up to one month at
ports of entry, provided that they possess return (or ongoing) tickets,
evidence of support and pre-arranged accommodation for stay. To stay
for longer than a month, visitors must apply for an extension from the
Immigration Department in Road Town, Tortola or at the Government
Administration Building in Virgin Gorda.
An import permit must be issued by the Department of
Agriculture for the entry of pets to the BVI. Contact the BVI

A cruising permit is required for cruising in the BVI.
Dive, day charter and sportfishing boats should contact the BVI Custom
Department for Cruising Permit requirements.
The removal of any marine organism from BVI waters is
illegal for non-British Virgin Islanders without a recreational fishing
permit. Contact the Fisheries Division at (284) 494-3429 for more
information.
Boats are required to use National Park Trust mooring
buoys at designated reed areas and must purchase a Marine Conservation
Permit for use.
Buoys are color coded:
● Yellow: Commercial Dive
Boats
◌ White: Boats with divers
● Orange:
Snorkel and day use
● Blue: Dinghy Docks

An International Vaccination Certificate is not
mandatory. Peebles Hospital has surgical, x-ray and lab facilities.
Private x-ray and lab facilities are offered by B&F Medical Complex,
Eureka Medical Clinic, Medical Diagnostic Lab, and the Bougainvillea
